While almost half of the world’s population is in lockdown due to the corona virus, Apple makes a nice gesture. The Cupertino company now offers temporary free access to eight of its original series and films that can be found on streaming service Apple TV +. Watched Netflix? then here’s your next pile of binge gear.
Since Friday evening April 10 you can Dickinson, Servant, For All Mankind and watch a few other series and movies for free. All you need is an Apple ID and Apple TV app. Moreover, it is not a trial subscription.
Free series and movies on Apple TV +
To take advantage of these free series and movies, you just need an Apple ID. Most people who own Apple product will have that. However, you don’t have to subscribe to Apple TV +, because when you open the Apple TV app, an overview with free content immediately appears.
Here are the eight series and movies that Apple TV + offers temporarily for free:
Dickinson
Hailee Steinfeld plays Emily Dickinson. Poet, daughter and rebel too. In this coming-of-age story, Emily is determined to become the world’s greatest poet. This is one of the highest rated series on Apple TV +.
For All Mankind (series)
Imagine a world where the global space race never ended. This Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, Battlestar Galactica) drama series follows a number of NASA astronauts, the rock stars and heroes of their time, as well as their families.

Servant (series)
Servant, by M. Night Shyamalan, tells the story of a grieving couple from Philadelphia. A horrible drama not only tests their marriage, but also opens the door of their home to a mysterious force.
Little America (series)
This series, from the makers of The Big Sick and Master of None, tells the funny, romantic, inspiring and surprising stories of immigrants in America.
Helpsters (series – for children)
Meet Cody and the Helpsters. This team of happy monsters loves to solve problems. Whether it’s hosting a party, climbing a mountain or mastering a magic trick, the Helpsters can handle anything – because everything starts with a plan.
Snoopy in space (series – for children)
Snoopy launches you into a new adventure in which he sees his dream of becoming a NASA astronaut come true. Together with Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang, Snoopy is in command of the International Space Station to explore the Moon and everything beyond.
Ghost writer (series – for children)
When a ghost haunts the local bookstore that brings fictional characters to life in the real world, four children must work together to solve the exciting mystery surrounding the mind’s unfinished business.
The Elephant Mother (feature film)
An epic story about family, courage and coming home. Follow Athena, the majestic elephant matriarch who leads her herd through the grim African landscape. Narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor. This film was officially selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as the Sundance Film Festival.
End date still unknown
Surprising is the absence of Apple’s hit The Morning Show and the very funny and nerdy series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is also not part of the free offer. Clearly, Apple wants to tempt users to give Apple TV + a try. This is definitely recommended for this temporary free content. The end date is not yet known, so enjoy it while you can.
