Apple is preparing to ship the second-generation Apple TVs 4K to those who pre-ordered on April 30, with orders now shifting to “Prepare to Ship” with a range for the delivery date.
Apple prepares to send Apple TV news
Apple started charging customers yesterday, a prelude to shipping orders. And the first customers of the new 2012 Apple TV 4K now have estimated delivery dates between Friday, May 21 and Thursday, May 27.
The Apple TV 4K 2 is identical in design to the original Apple TV 4K, but it supports high frame rate HDR and is equipped with a faster A12 Bionic processor. The new Apple TV comes with a redesigned Siri remote with an iPod-style mixed touchpad.
Pricing for the Apple TV 4K starts at $ 199 for 32GB of storage, though there’s also a 64GB option available for $ 229. The new Apple TV 4K is still available to order with shipments between May 25 and June 2.
The € 69 Siri remote control is available on its own for those who already have an Apple TV but want the new controller. Note that it also comes with the less expensive Apple TV HD.
The new iPad Pro M1 and iMac M1 models are also expected to start arriving to customers starting this Friday, save for a lucky few who have already received the iPad Pro 2021.
