Apple to Release Software Update for iPhone 12 in France to Resolve Radiation Exposure Violations

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PARIS — Apple Inc said on Friday (15/9/2023) that it would issue a software update for users iPhone 12 Of French to resolve a dispute with regulators who ordered the suspension of mobile phone sales due to violations of radiation exposure limits. The French government welcomed the move and said the software update would be tested soon.

This update will allow sales of the relatively old model, which was launched in 2020, to resume.

Belgium also welcomed the move but said it would continue its own review of the phone and other models. Belgium on Thursday (14/9/2023) said that it would review the potential health risks associated with the iPhone 12 after iPhone 12 suspension in France.

Researchers have conducted a large number of studies over the past two decades to assess the health risks of cell phones. According to the World Health Organization, there are no adverse health impacts caused by this.

“We will issue a software update for users in France to accommodate the protocols used by French regulators. “We expect the iPhone 12 to continue to be available in France,” Apple said in a statement.

But Apple continues to challenge the French radiation findings, saying the iPhone has been certified by several international bodies as meeting global standards.

“This is related to the specific testing protocol used by the French regulator and is not a safety issue,” he said.
