Details

As you know, starting with iOS 10, Apple deliberately reduced the performance of iPhone devices. The goal was to keep the batteries running. However, users who have not been informed about this do not agree with this approach. The tech giant is being sued.

After a lot of red tape, the company agreed to refund $500 million to owners of older iPhones that started to slow down after the launch of new versions of iOS. We are talking about iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus and iPhone SE users who applied for compensation before October 2020.

In total, more than 3 million people suffered from the actions of the company. The payout amount for each of them is $65.

Recall that Apple banned the use of ChatGPT to its employees. The iPhone manufacturer is concerned that such AI platforms collect sensitive user data and remember all queries entered and responses received.
