Apple intends to launch a new version of the iPad Air later this year with improved specifications compared to the current version released last year, according to the MacRumors technical website.
Among the most prominent improvements expected to support the iPad Air is the addition of an M2 processor and a Thunderbolt port that supports superior data transfer.
According to the MacRumors report, Apple will not hold a special press conference for this announcement, but will merely issue an official statement via its website, especially since it will hold a press conference within a few days, but it will focus mainly on the iPhone 15 and the new versions of its smart watch.
It is expected that the iPad Air will be the last device launched by Apple this year, amid other rumors that Apple may postpone the launch of the MacBook and iPad Pro devices to the first quarter of next year.
Apple had launched an updated version of the iPad in early 2022 with an M1 processor, a 12-megapixel front camera that supports the Center Stage feature that always keeps people in the middle, with a faster USB C port, and support for 5G networks in versions that support cellular communications.
Apple currently offers the iPad Air with a storage capacity starting from 64 GB at a price starting from 600 US dollars, and the next version may witness an increase in the initial storage capacity, accompanied by another possible increase in price.
