Apple to hold Unleashed event on October 18, possibly for new MacBooks – Computer – News

I have to say that I do appreciate the Touch Bar on my current MacBook Pro. I find it very useful to use universe controls on the Touch Bar to adjust things like brightness or volume, word suggestions while typing, or the keyboard shortcuts built into ArchiCAD. I had the very first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and the only flaw with that model was the replacement of the physical escape key with a digital one in the Touch Bar, I think this has caused a lot of controversy and led to the fact that the Touch Bar was hated even more.

I myself will miss the Touch Bar in the new MacBook Pro, but if it were now an option for 200-300 euros when putting together, I would have left it alone.

I personally think returning an SD card and/or USB-A would be a wrong step. Of course there are still people who use this, such as photographers, etc. But the “pain they cause” of having to buy a dongle and connect or connect the camera directly into the MacBook is much smaller than the benefit that the average MacBook Pro would be better off not having one. You will then ask me what the advantage is of not having such ports and that is simply more space for other things such as battery, a thinner and lighter device, etc. The bottom line is that you always have to weigh up. You may also be thinking “it’s a MacBook Pro” so made for professionals and so the Pro must have such ports in particular. But Apple and us users all know that the MacBook Pro has become an ordinary consumer laptop, not because they are too weak in terms of performance, but because the average user buys it. Yes the MacBook Air still sells better but the MacBook Pro has simply become a consumer laptop despite its name. People think they need a professional device way too soon and because of the small price difference between the Air and the Pro, many people go for the You can’t see this in desktop devices, for example, where the Pro variants are much more expensive, where the Pro variants are used by real professionals who actually need the horsepower.

I hope the new MacBooks simply have much improved cameras, a fast Apple silicon chip, better GPU, more RAM and a nice bonus would be a new design with possibly an improved screen.
