“Apple to Discontinue My Photo Stream: How to Transfer Your Photos to iCloud”

Apple has announced the closure of its cloud photo service. MacRumors writes about it.

According to the source, we are talking about the My Photo Stream service. It appeared much earlier than iCloud Photo Library and allowed you to upload photos taken within the last 30 days to the cloud, after which it made them available on all connected devices – iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod and Windows PC.

Apple says My Photo Stream will be closed on June 26, 2023. On that day, new photos will no longer be uploaded to iCloud, and the photos already there will be stored for 30 days, after which they will be permanently deleted.

If you use Photo Stream, be sure to transfer your photos from it to iCloud Photo Library or you risk losing them on July 23rd. To do this, open the Photos app, select My Photo Stream, highlight all the photos you want, click Share, and drag them to the location you want.
