The saga of Apple’s virtual reality and augmented reality headset continues: according to new information, the Cupertino company has decided to once again postpone the announcement and release of its device. This one is highly anticipated.
Clearly, Apple seems to be having great difficulty finalizing its mixed reality headset. The American company has been working on this product for more than 5 yearswhose presentation finally seemed scheduled for avril 2023. But new information published by Mark Gurman at Bloomberg report new difficulties encountered by Apple, which would therefore have decided to postpone the formalization of the helmet for two months.
From now on, the manufacturer would consider lifting the veil on its mixed reality helmet in June, a period which owes nothing to chance: it is that of the WorldWide Developer Conference, one of Apple’s major events. WWDC is the annual developer conference, during which the company gives details on its technological advances, but also on its interfaces.

It should be remembered that when rumors around Apple’s mixed reality headset began to escalate in early 2022, his announcement was then expected at WWDC 2022. However, the rumors of corridors are not always founded, and the Cupertino company had not announced anything at the time.
History seems to repeat itself, but this time Apple appears to be much more advanced in the development of the helmet. However, recent tests “showed that hardware and software issues still needed to be resolved”. ‘The American company therefore needs more time to refine its helmet, which is highly anticipated.

The virtual reality headset market is dominated by certain strong players such as HTC and Meta. Apple is obviously looking to develop a unique experience for the user. Tim Cook, son patron, categorically refuses to speak of “metaverse” : for him, the usefulness of such a device is elsewhere. Technically, the helmet should have an Apple M2 processor, more than a dozen cameras and a very advanced motion tracking system.
