Apple and Mercedes-Benz today announced native support for Apple Music with Dolby Atmos is available for select Mercedes-Benz vehicles around the world, including the latest Mercedes-Maybach models, EQS and EQS SUVs, EQE and S.
According to The Verge, spatial audio requires a Mercedes-Benz with a Burmester 3D or 4D sound system, which can cost thousands of dollars more.
Apple Music is available on Mercedes via the MBUX system
Since last year, Apple Music has been available directly via the MBUX infotainment system on new Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Spatial audio offers an immersive surround sound listening experience that makes you sound like music is all around you.
Spatial audio was launched last year on Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and now the feature is available for the first time in the car.
“Together with Mercedes-Benz, we now have more opportunities to offer fully immersive music to our subscribers around the world,” said Oliver Chaucer, Apple Music vice president of Apple Music, in a statement.
