KOMPAS.com – Apple back into legal trouble. This time, the company got two lawsuit at the same time in the Australian Court.
The reason is two Apple devices, namely iPhone X and Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3 reported exploded and heat (overheated) thus causing burns to the user who wears it.
Law suit this was filed by two victims through the help of the law firm Carbone Lawyers. The two victims, Robert De Rose and David Borg, demanded Apple to pay compensation for what happened to them.
Tony Carbone, manager of the law firm Carbone Lawyers, revealed that his first client, named Robert De Rose, suffered second-degree burns after his iPhone X exploded in his pocket in April 2019.
According to Carbone, at that time, the iPhone X suddenly exploded even though it was not being used by its client.

“The client heard a popping sound and a hissing sound, then he felt a burning sensation in his leg. When he took the cell phone out of his pocket, he saw black smoke coming out of the cell phone, “said Carbone.
As a result of this incident, De Rose, had to undergo treatment for more than six weeks. Now these burns leave a scar up to 25 cm long.
“He (De Rose) wants to make sure incidents like this don’t happen again,” continued Carbone.
De Rose himself claims, he has contacted Apple many times regarding this issue, however, Apple has never provided a response.
Meanwhile, David Borg, Carbone’s second client, suffered burns to his left wrist after the Apple Watch Nike + series 3 which he used overheated (overheated).
In their lawsuit, De Rose and Borg said the iPhone X and Apple Watch Nike + Series 3 products were “security flaws” under the Australian Consumer Law.

Carbone said the two clients were demanding compensation for medical treatment costs and other income losses due to injuries caused by the Apple-made devices.
“We are talking about a multibillion dollar company. This device has also been tested. Anyone with a cell phone or smartwatch would never have thought this was happening,” Carbone said.
