Apple Sports app to show live scores on iPhone Lock screen with iOS 18

Apple announcement that its Apple Sports app will improve with iOS 18 by offering support for Live Activities on the iPhone’s lock screen to display live scores. It will do the same on the Apple Watch with watchOS 11.

Speaking of Live Activities, Apple announces that they will no longer be available in the Apple TV app starting with iOS 18.

In an app update coming later this year, Apple Sports will also introduce new scrollable navigation for the main scoreboard views, making it quicker to switch between My Leagues, My Teams, and user feeds for the leagues they prefer. A new and improved search will make it easier to view games from leagues that fans aren’t already following.

Apple Sports offers scores, updates, betting data and more throughout the season for the following leagues:

  • NFL
  • NCAAF
  • MLS
  • MLB
  • NBA
  • WNBA
  • NCAA basketball (men and women)
  • NHL
  • NWSL
  • Premier League
  • Bundesliga
  • LaLiga
  • Liga MX
  • Ligue 1
  • Serie A

Apple says other leagues will be available in the app over time, including the Champions League and Europa League.

Unfortunately, there is still no information for availability in France and the rest of the world. The application remains limited to the United States and Canada. on the App Store.
