The technology company Apple enters into an agreement worth several billion dollars with Broadcom for the supply of 5G components made in the USA, the company warns in a message.
– We are excited about entering into agreements that make use of the ingenuity, creativity and innovative spirit of American manufacturing, says Apple CEO Tim Cook.
He says Apple will continue to invest heavily in the US.
The investment comes as several American companies want to make themselves less dependent on China for the production of components and parts used in technology. Last year, Joe Biden and the United States launched the huge Inflation Reduction Act package, in which $369 billion will be spent on tax breaks and subsidies for companies and technologies on American soil.
