Apple has shared a list of Apple products that should be kept at a safe distance from medical devices such as pacemakers.
This is because many consumer electronic devices contain magnets or components and radios that emit electromagnetic fields that can interfere with some medical devices.
“Under certain conditions, magnets and electromagnetic fields can interfere with medical devices. For example, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators may contain sensors that respond to magnets and radios when they are in close contact,” Apple explains in a support document.
To avoid possible interactions with these types of medical devices, keep your Apple product away from your medical device (more than 6 inches/15 cm or more than 12 inches/30 cm when charging wirelessly). Contact your doctor and device manufacturer for information. on certain instructions.
For users who suspect their Apple products are interfering with their medical devices, the tech giant is advising them to stop using Apple products and consult their doctors and medical device manufacturers.
