Apple Set to Launch New iMac and MacBook with M3 Chip in October 2023: Latest Updates and Speculations

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Apple is said to be launching their first iMac and MacBook using the new M3 chip, in October 2023.

This information was disseminated by journalist Mark Gurman through a bulletin Power On for Bloomberg. He speculated that the focus of the post-iPhone 15 launch might be the new Mac line.

Collect 9to5macWednesday (19/7/2023), several Apple Mac products that are predicted to come with the M3 chip are the iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.

The M3 chip is expected to come with the same number of cores as the M2, but get increased performance and efficiency, thanks to the switch to a new 3 nanometer silicon fabrication process.

That said, Gurman did not specifically mention whether Apple will be holding an event in October, or whether the new Mac will only be announced via a press release.

Further, quoting The Vergein last week’s Power On, Gurman also wrote that the larger iMac, potentially 32-inch, won’t appear until late 2024. So, this refresh is expected only for the current 24-inch model.

However, Gurman also did not explain explicitly about the iPad, and mentioned the possibility of an M3 version of the iPad Pro with an OLED screen to be released next year.

In addition, Gurman also said that a faster iPad Air model with the latest chip is also under development.

If true, this returns Apple’s mid-range iPad to its annual release schedule, having skipped the 2021 refresh, then releasing the M1-powered iPad Air in 2022.
