Apple: service problems with the Mac Pro?

The Mac Pro is by far the most expensive computer that Apple offers. According to a report by Appleinsider However, there are problems with the support of the desktop because employees are apparently not sufficiently trained or available. The website reports that employees in the Apple Store didn’t even know how to supply the computer they had brought with them. The issues could be related to the closure of Apple Stores due to the Corona virus.

Appleinsider first tried support chat, which identified the Mac and reported the problems. In the subsequent chat contact with a support employee, it was pointed out that Apple had put together a special team for questions about the Mac Pro that was available by phone. An appointment was made and after some back and forth the contact was made. The solutions did not work, so an appointment was made with an Apple store. There, the Apple employee didn’t even get the Mac Pro to boot because she lacked the power adapter, she tried a USB power adapter for the Macbook Pro. Fortunately, the customer had brought his own power supply. The problem could not be solved.

The report suggests that Apple also has problems supporting a Mac Pro in other stores, which is understandably just a snapshot. Appleinsider claims that out of the 27 Apple stores that information is available, more than half have trained one or more people to maintain the Mac Pro. Due to the small number, continuous support in the store cannot be guaranteed.
The support situation for the computer, which has only been on the market for a few weeks, can still improve. All Apple stores outside of China are currently closed, so customers rely on Apple phone support or service partners.
