Apple’s software boss, Craig Federighi, also spoke about the Epic Games and Apple lawsuit. At the hearing, among other things saidthat this vulnerability means that iOS devices are more secure to use than Macs. However, Macs can also be operated safely, he added.
He acknowledged, however, that iOS was designed to provide a much higher level of protection for consumers – a Mac that doesn’t reach that level. Federighi likened Macs to a car that can be used to go anywhere and that’s why someone buys it. At the same time, he says, using Macs also requires responsibility, unlike using iOS devices.
According to Federighi, no less than 130 maces pests have infected more than 300,000 Macs since May last year. He also said Macs were not designed to be used by children without supervision.
