Apple Says Motor Vibration Can Damage iPhone Camera

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Technology manufacturer Apple warn users that vibrations of certain frequencies, including those from high-power motorcycle engines, can damage the camera system iPhone.

“Exposing your iPhone to high-amplitude vibrations within a certain frequency range, particularly those generated by high-power motorcycle engines, can degrade camera system performance,” Apple wrote in a statement. help section official site.

Apple further explained that the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and closed-loop autofocus (AF) on the iPhone are designed for the durability of the camera lens.

However, as with the electronics that include systems such as OIS, long-term direct exposure to high-amplitude vibrations within a certain frequency range can degrade system performance and cause image quality degradation for photos and videos.

Apple advises its users to avoid iPhone devices from such vibrations.

Apple says high-power or high-volume motorcycle engines produce intense, high-amplitude vibrations, which are said to be transmitted through the chassis and handlebars.

Apple doesn’t recommend attaching iPhone to a motorcycle with a high-power or high-volume engine, due to the amplitude of vibrations within a certain frequency range that it produces.

Installing iPhone in small vehicles or electric machines, such as mopeds and scooters, can cause vibrations of relatively lower amplitude.

But if you keep the pairing, it is recommended to add vibration dampers to reduce the risk of damage to iPhone and its devices OIS and AF system.

OIS is a system that functions so that the image does not blur even when the user moves. OIS can be found on the latest iPhones, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7.

“It is also recommended to avoid routine use for a long time to reduce the risk of further damage,” he concluded.
