Apple sacrifices iOS 17 for “mixed” reality headsets.

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Apple is reportedly busy developing an operating system for the device headset reality “mixture”. (mixed reality). Headset will incorporate virtual reality technology (virtual reality/VR) and augmented reality (augmented reality/VR).

Thus, the iOS 17 operating system for the iPhone line would be sacrificed. In this sense, the operating system (OS) will not bring significant improvements, only minor updates.

According to a report by journalist Mark Gurman, Apple has appointed a special team of engineers to develop an operating system for VR/AR headsets called xrOS. Other OS projects will be sidelined.

Not only iOS 17 was sacrificed, but also iPadOS 17 and the next generation of macOS, mentioned by Digital TrendsTuesday (10/1/2023).

Fortunately, the development of xrOS is said not to affect Apple hardware products. Gurman labeled the iPhone 15, which had just entered the first phase of production (NRI), promising a significant increase.

All iPhone 15 series are said to get the Dynamic Island feature which was previously exclusive to the ‘Pro’ and ‘Pro Max’ series. A USB-C port will also be available as a form of Apple’s commitment to comply with European Union regulations.

Apart from that, the Pro version of the iPhone 15 series will also be framed with titanium material. The volume buttons have also been replaced with haptic technology, so there are no more physical buttons.
