Apple recently launched its latest beta version, which is considered the first in the iOS 17.3 operating system, which includes a new feature called “Stolen Device Protection.”
Apple releases its latest features to protect the iPhone
This feature aims to make the mobile phone more secure than before, as it is difficult for thieves to steal the phone and use it, by activating biometric tools such as Face ID or Touch ID.
This is done by preventing the device’s passcode from being used on a site that is not usually associated with the original phone owner. When the mobile phone is stolen and the person’s owner is away, the iPhone cannot be unlocked.
How to activate the stolen device protection feature
When you enable this feature on your phone, you will be asked iPhone Using the Face ID or Touch ID service, you will be asked to perform some specific actions to activate it on the phone, such as:
View passwords stored on the device.
Scan the phone.
Create a new Apple ID password.
Apply for an Apple Card.
Turn off Lost Mode.
Access and use payment methods stored in Safari.
If the thief fails to enter a correct passcode after 10 attempts, the device will be completely locked.

Stolen device protection feature on iPhone
This feature is considered a general and successful addition to the security system for iOS devices, as it can protect your personal and important data in the event that the device is stolen, especially data related to your bank accounts.
Protecting stolen devices depends on using biometric tools to keep thieves away from your iPhone, when your phone is stolen and it is far from its user’s usual locations.
The phone will ask him to use Face ID or Touch ID before allowing any of the previous actions to be activated, as this feature aims to prevent fraud and theft.
Apple kept this new feature in the final version of iOS 17.3, so only iPhone users will get this feature until early next year.
You must first install the first beta version of iOS 17.3. You can protect your device from theft by going to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Stolen Device Protection.
