On Friday, Apple released new beta software with version number 5B5040c, available for Airpods 2, Airpods 3, Airpods Pro, Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods Max, to write 9 to 5 Mac. The new beta software comes after Apple released the fourth beta version of iOS 16.1 this week.
Along with IOS 16, the Airpods get a new menu in the Settings app, which, among other things, shows which firmware is running. However, there is no information here on what new features or, more likely, bug fixes the new software will bring.
