JAKARTA – In the midst of waiting for a number of iPhone users for the arrival of iOS 16, Apple announced the release of the latest version of their ‘old’ Operation System (OS), iOS 15.6.
Released alongside the latest version of the OS on several other Apple devices, such as iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5, watchOS 8.7, and tvOS 15.6. The lack of new features offered in update this is something that is natural because iOS 16 will soon appear in the next few months.
On iOS 15.6 and iPad OS 15.6 for example, Apple only brought a few improvements to the bug in Settings (setting), Mail, and Safari apps. As well as adding the ability to pause, rewind, restart, and speed up live sports games in their TV app.
Likewise on macOS 12.5 which only gets updates for the TV app and bug fixes for Safari, watchOS 8.7 which includes upgrades, bug fixes, and critical security updates, and on tvOS 15.6 which includes general performance and stability improvements.
In this update, the five Apple device OS will also certainly get an increase in the security system in some of its features.
Although it seems to be a ‘responsible’ update when iOS 16 will soon be released, the iOS 15.6 update remains something important thanks to the improvements it brings, especially in the security sector.
What’s more for users who may still be using the first generation iPhone 6S, 7, or SE. This update is also important, because it will be the last update they can enjoy. Before you can no longer do it in the upcoming iOS 16.
To be able to update iOS 15.6, users can directly download it in Settings > General > Software Update. To download macOS 12.5 simply go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
Meanwhile, Apple TV and Watch will likely update automatically, without the need to take any steps. If not, however, users can update manually by following Apple’s instructions, which can be found on their support page.
It should also be noted that the iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5, watchOS 8.7, and tvOS 15.6 updates are being carried out by Apple in stages. So there may be users who can’t immediately update their devices when doing the steps above.
