Apple Releases iOS 15.4.1 to Overcome iPhone Battery Problems

Jakarta

Moment Apple release iOS 15.4 a few weeks ago, some users iPhone complain that this update makes their phones more battery-intensive. Now Apple is releasing the fix with an update iOS 15.4.1.

According to Apple’s release notes, the iOS 15.4.1 update brings a fix for a bug that caused battery drain after updating to iOS 15.4. This update also brings fixes for Made for iPhone hearing aid devices and Braille devices.

It is not known how many iPhone users are affected by this wasteful battery problem. But via the Apple Support Twitter account, Apple itself acknowledged the problem and said that a wasteful battery is something that is normal after an operating system update.

“It’s normal for apps and features to require adjustment for up to 48 hours after updating,” Apple’s Support Twitter account said at the time.

If your iPhone battery is still normal after updating to iOS 15.4, it’s a good idea to update it to iOS 15.4.1 because this update brings several fixes for potentially dangerous security holes, as quoted from The Verge, Friday (1/4/2022).

iOS and iPadOS 15.4.1 fixed an issue with AppleAVD allowing apps to run arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple said this vulnerability may have been actively exploited, so users should immediately update the operating system on their iPhones.

Here’s how to update iOS 15.4.1 on iPhone:

  • Open the Settings app or Settings on iPhone
  • Click the General option and then click the Software Update section
  • Wait for the page to refresh
  • As soon as a notification appears that an update is available, click the Download and Install button
  • Agree to the terms and conditions that appear on the screen
  • Wait until the download and install process is complete.

iOS 15.4 looks like it will be the last major update before Apple announces iOS 16. This update brings a lot of new features, including the option to unlock Face ID even if the user is wearing a mask.
