JAKARTA (Lenteratoday) – The technology company Apple seems very ready to make the transition from using Qualcomm chip modems and will use its own factory-made chip technology.
The decision seems even stronger with Apple’s latest plan, which is preparing a special design team for the chip made in Irvine, Southern California.
Citing GSM Arena, Friday (12/17/2021), Apple is currently recruiting experienced people in the semiconductor industry, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, wireless radio, and chip system design.
Apple’s expansion in the Irvine area is still in its early stages with plans to be increased gradually.
Apart from that expansion, Apple has also started setting up chip offices throughout the United States starting in Portland, Oregon, Austin, Texas, and Orlando.
While outside the US, Apple has been expanding in Israel to be precise in two regions, namely Haifa and Herzliya.
The location was chosen by Apple because it is strategically close to the location of leading chip suppliers such as Intel, AMD, and Infieon.
In addition, it is reported that Apple is currently exploring the possibility of developing in the Asian region, precisely in Japan
