Apple is raising the price of all three iCloud+ subscription plans
However, it is not a general increase in price, it concerns, for example, Poland, Norway or Denmark
In the Czech Republic, the price for iCloud+ remains the same as before
Apple has proceeded to increase the price of its iCloud+ subscription, thanks to which users have access to cloud storage integrated into the ecosystem of the brand. It is not a general increase in price, i.e. it does not apply to all markets where Apple operates, however, there have been price increases in several important markets. Which ones are they?
The cost of iCloud+ will increase, but not for everyone
First of all, it should be noted that all users with a valid Apple ID have access to iCloud virtual storage. The American company is giving away a basic 5GB package to everyone. However, it fills up dangerously quickly, practically not a single proper backup of your iPhone, let alone other devices, can fit into it.
There are three iCloud+ subscription tariffs available, namely a package with a capacity of 50 GB, 200 GB and 2 TB for those who are really demanding. These packages can be used individually or shared within the family. On iCloud, you can store data from individual applications, information about contacts, your health data for sharing between individual devices, of course photos and videos, or the previously mentioned backups.
Don’t overlook

The good news for citizens of the Czech Republic is that Apple did not raise the price in euros, therefore, the official Czech price also remains: 25 CZK per month for a 50GB package, 79 CZK per month for 200GB of storage and 249 CZK for the highest 2TB tariff.
Apple One does not hesitate
However, the price increase by a quarter applies to, for example, the following countries: Brazil, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Turkey (there was even a 50% price increase) or Great Britain. For example, in Britain the basic tariff cost 0.79 pounds, now it will cost 0.99 pounds (CZK 27). New price list is valid from June 26, 2023.
The situation in the already mentioned Turkey is bizarre, where due to inflation, the new basic iCloud+ costs only 12.99 lira, i.e. about 11 crowns (the original price was around 6 crowns). However, the average salary in Turkey is between 8,000 and 12,000 crowns after conversion.
If you live in one of the countries mentioned and the increase affects you, you have the option to switch to a more comprehensive Apple One subscription, which includes iCloud+ with 50 GB, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+ and in some countries Fitness+ and News+. The price of this subscription was last raised in October, currently it is CZK 339 per month.
