Apple announced that it will hold an event on Tuesday, September 12, where the company plans to unveil new consumer products, led by the iPhone 15, which will be a family that includes 4 models, the first being the basic, the second Plus, the third Pro, and finally the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to information confirmed by the famous analyst Mark Gurman, from Bloomberg, Apple has decided to stick with the same name as the best iPhone to be launched in the iPhone 15 family this year, and therefore there will be no iPhone 15 Ultra as was rumored over the past months.
Sources, including Gorman himself, revealed at the beginning of this year that Apple will change the name of the best model in its phones, which usually bears the name Pro Max, to Ultra starting from the 2023 generation, in an attempt to differentiate it from the Pro model, and the idea was for the phone to carry The fourth and best among the family is called the iPhone 15 Ultra, to be the basic group, the Plus, Pro and Ultra models.
Gorman confirmed that the best phone will come under the name iPhone 15 Pro Max this year, as is the case in recent years, and there will be no Ultra model.
It is rumored that the iPhone 15 Pro Max model will feature exclusively an upgraded periscope lens with up to 6x optical zoom, compared to three times in the current iPhone 14, and it is said that this lens will be available in the Pro Max only and not only in the Pro model.
While the two Pro models will receive new improvements, as the two phones are rumored to feature a titanium frame, a customizable task button, the latest A17 processor and fewer bezels around the screen, in addition to support for the sixth generation Wi-Fi connection 6E.
The price of the Pro Max model that replaces the iPhone 15 Ultra will reportedly be Apple’s most expensive iPhone, which could start at $1,199 in the US, which is $100 more than the same model in the 14th generation.
