Apple posts sharply higher Mac sales, but warns of delivery problems – Tablets and phones – News

Apple’s quarterly revenue from Mac sales is up nearly 15 percent. Sales of iPhones and other products also rose, but that of the iPad fell. Apple warns that it will face delivery problems this quarter.

Apples quarterly revenue from Mac sales rose 14.73 percent from 9.25 billion dollars to 10.44 billion dollars, or from 8.78 billion euros to 9.91 billion euros. Apple’s most important product in terms of sales, the iPhone, also increased 5.5 percent to $50.57 billion. Apple CEO Tim Cook reports that there were not only many “upgraders” but also many “switchers”, the term Apple uses for users who switch from an Android device to an iPhone.

Apple is increasingly generating revenue from services such as Apple TV+, and revenue from this division also increased significantly last quarter, by 17.28 percent to $19.82 billion. Revenue from ‘other products’, such as the Apple Watch, rose 12.37 percent to 8.81 billion dollars. Apple achieved a record total revenue of $97.3 billion, 9 percent more than in the same period last year.

A small blemish on the quarterly figures was the 1.92 percent decline in iPad sales. According to Cook, the iPad experienced delivery issues in the quarter. Apple also speaks of challenges in terms of deliveries for the current quarter, partly due to lockdowns in China to prevent the spread of corona.
