After covering the whole of the United States, Apple must now attack the rest of the world to bring its new maps. A process that will go through the automated analysis of satellite photos, but also through a vision of the situation at eye level. Like the builder explained it in 2018 during the presentation of these new maps, vans must drive on all roads to take measurements and take 360 ° photos.
Each country will thus see Apple Plans vans in the coming months. And for France, it will start in March! This page lists the places where Apple circulates its vehicles and we see that the whole country will be covered between March and June 2020. Corsica is the only one to have a more precise date: it will be for the month of May.
France is not the only country concerned: Apple’s vans have already been driven in Spain and in Portugal in 2019, and they complete the work from January to May 2020. In Germany as in Italy, everything was done between July and October 2019. At UK, work started in December and will continue until April. TheIreland also got a head start in 2019, and everything will be finished this month.
No information for the moment for Switzerland, Belgium and all other European countries. France should therefore be part of the first wave of deployment, with the other countries mentioned in the previous paragraph.
