Apple plans to launch budget earbuds to challenge competitors

London – “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: The American giant “Apple” intends to launch cheap earphones that will be called “AirPods Lite” to keep up with competitors who have managed to produce similar headphones at low prices and have affected sales and diffusion of the original headphones produced by the company.
The British newspaper “Daily Mail”, in a report seen by “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”, cited industry sources that Apple could develop a new, cheaper version of its wireless earphones, which will help it challenge competitors.
And the tech giant was said to be working on a product called “AirPods Lite” amid fears of a decline in demand for the third generation of “AirPods” in 2023, according to the “Daily Mail” report.
Few details were shared while the company did not comment on this information, but the price of the cheapest earbuds is expected to be less than $129, which means they will be cheaper than the price of second-generation AirPods currently, according to the info. circulated so far.
This technology has proven to be very popular with users of ‘iPhone’ phones and ‘Apple’ devices, but it’s not cheap and with no indication of a date for the 4th generation of ‘AirPods’ this year, there is a gap for the company to launch a potential new product.
Haitong Intel Tech Research analyst Jeff Bo said in a leaked note to media that the new AirPods Lite are meant to compete with cheaper wireless earbuds.
He said industry sources have told him AirPods shipments are expected to drop from 73 million units in 2022 to 63 million this year. This has been attributed to a lack of demand for the third-generation AirPods, which will be two years old later this year, along with the fact that it has been suggested that Apple won’t be releasing a new version in 2023.
And the “Daily Mail” claims that if the “AirPods Lite” rumor is correct, there are no details on when it will be launched by the tech giant, nor is there any information on what the earphones will look like or the features they will have so far, but it is almost certain : It won’t have an Active Noise Canceling feature because it’s for the high-end AirPod Pro model.
The cost of “AirPods 3” is $169, while the cost of the second generation is $129, while the cost of “AirPods Pro” is $249.
Unlike regular standard ‘AirPods’, the new ‘Pro’ model launched last year comes with silicone ear tips, available in four sizes, which means they fit more comfortably in the user’s ears and make them feel secure while running or walking.
