Apple Plans a Cheaper Version of Vision Pro Headset for the Masses

  • Apple is reportedly preparing a cheaper version of the Vision Pro
  • What they will miss is for now in the stars
  • We should expect them in 2025 at the earliest

At this year’s developer conference WWDC, Apple presented a whole range of hardware and software innovations, but the headset for virtual and augmented reality called Vision Pro stole the most attention. They attracted not only their technological sophistication, for which Apple registered over 5,000 new patents and design purism, but above all their price, which will attack the border of 100,000 crowns including tax.

A cheaper Vision Pro already in 2025?

It was with regard to the publication of the price that they reportedly passionately debated in Cupertino, with some leaning toward the possibility that the company would publish the amount later to avoid negative publicity. At least that’s according to the respected journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who, in addition to this information, came up with a very surprising news that will please everyone for whom the current version of Vision Pro is too much of a mouthful, at least from a financial point of view.

The price of the Apple Vision Pro really struck a chord with some people

This makes the variant with the likely name Vision One or just Vision more affordable. The goal of a cheaper headset is, of course, to be a more mass audience, who do not necessarily need the best on the market, but still want to get their hands on new technologies as soon as possible. Apple could reduce the price, for example, by deploying displays with a lower resolution, using a less powerful chipset, removing some cameras or requiring AirPods to use the surround sound function. But what the cheaper headset will probably want to keep is the eye movement tracking technology or gesture control.

Since we still do not know all the parameters of the recently introduced device, it is very difficult to speculate on what their cheaper versions should or should not have. For example, it was only recently leaked to the public that the Vision Pro displays will only have a refresh rate of 90 Hz, while it can jump up to 96 Hz when watching video. Still, this is a slight disappointment. If you’re excited about the more affordable version of the Vision Pro glasses, don’t get too excited just yet. Gurman claims that we won’t see light virtual reality from Apple until 2025, when the second generation of Vision Pro should be introduced at the same time.
