The Patently Apple website has discovered patent applications that have been filed by Apple, which include a number of different hand controls intended for gaming. More specifically, it is about three different patents where one is reminiscent of a hand control similar to those for ordinary game consoles. A second is similar to the one Nintendo uses for its Console Switch with detachable controllers attached to the side of either an Iphone or an Ipad, while the third is similar to a case that is magnetically attached to the game controls as part of the fold-out lid. The fold-out part, however, does not consist of physical buttons but a form of extra screen that can both work for control but also show extra information in addition to what is displayed on the primary screen.
Just because a patent has been filed does not necessarily mean that there will be any finished products from them, but it could also mean that Apple will put a little more energy into its gaming service Apple Arcade in the future.
