Patent with number. 11,320,869 this week, describes a hinged accessory that has multiple installation modes for tablet computing devices.

The accessory effectively adds the bottom of the MacBook to the iPad, turning it into a hybrid laptop.

The patent document explains that external devices such as a keyboard integrated with a trackpad can connect with iPad to provide a macOS-like experience.

Later, the iPad can be configured to be able to change the appearance of the UI when the device is attached to an external keyboard.
