Apple opens "preorders" for the latest HomePod products

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Apple has announced its newest product, the full-size HomePod which includes a number of improvements and starts shipping on February 3, 2023.

According to The Verge, Thursday, price preorder for the device is priced at 299 US dollars (Rp. 4.5 million) and is now available through Apple, Adorama, Best Buy, and B&H Photo.

Apple’s newest HomePod comes with Matter and Thread support and built-in temperature and humidity sensors. This second-generation HomePod is a follow-up to Apple’s 2018 original device.

While it mimics the design of the original model of the product, it includes some significant hardware improvements. The biggest updates are Thread support and Material compatibility, which allow the speaker to communicate with other Material compatible devices and seamless connectivity and stability across a home network.

The 2023 HomePod also features an upgraded S7 CPU, first seen on the Apple Watch Series 7, which should help the device keep up with other smart home devices.

However, Apple has reduced the number of speakers and microphones included in the new HomePod. According to Apple, however, Siri will be able to recognize different voices and provide personalized responses, which should help overcome some of the issues it had with the original HomePod.

The new smart speakers will also have spatial audio support via Dolby Atmos, and Apple claims that the new models can adjust their sound to dynamically feel in a room.

Plus, just like the original, you can pair two HomePods together for stereo sound and use them as speakers for Apple TV 4K. As for other new additions, the new HomePod features built-in temperature and humidity sensors which can be connected to trigger other smart home devices.
