REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA—Apple has officially opened pre-orders (PO) for the iPhone 15 on Friday (15/9/2023) at 13.00 local time or Friday (15/9/2023) at 19.00 WIB.

When an outage occurs, Apple provides a description on its website. “Almost here. Just a few finishing touches and the Apple Store will be ready. See you soon,” Apple said. It was observed that the Apple Store was inactive for about 15 minutes before customers reported being able to access it again.
Even though it was relatively short, consumers felt disappointed and expressed their frustration and annoyance via social media X/Twitter. They highlighted that Apple, as a world-class brand, should make good preparations.
“Apple is the biggest company in the world and they can’t even prepare their website for the planned launch of the iPhone 15,” said netizen Matt Wallace.
Other netizens joked that people were willing to spend money on the latest cellphones and Apple actually ‘rejected’ the money. There is also an X user named Kyle Thayer who complained about losing the pre-order link he had obtained due to Apple Store disruption.
Apple launched the iPhone 15 series of cellphones at a company event entitled “Wonderlust” which took place in California, United States, Tuesday (12/9/2023). The cellphone comes with screen sizes of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, the same as the previous generation iPhone.
What attracts customers is the array of new features, including a design that replaces the “Notch” on the top of the phone with a “Dynamic Island” feature. This flagship device also comes in five new colors, including pink, yellow, green, blue and black.
The phone has an improved camera that allows for more capable zoom. Apple claims the iPhone 15 will have all-day battery life and the iPhone 15 Plus will have a larger battery, but it’s not clear how long either will last.
Apple also confirmed that the iPhone 15 will come with a USB-C charging port, the same port currently used to charge iPads and Macs. AirPods Pro will also switch to USB-C, allowing for faster charging.
It was also stated that the iPhone 15 has a sound isolation feature that is supported by artificial intelligence and will make it easier to hear, even when the user is on a train or in a busy public place. Another claim is that the iPhone 15 casing is partly made from recycled materials and reused cobalt.
Prices for the iPhone 15 start at 799 US dollars (Rp. 12.2 million). The more expensive variant, namely the iPhone 15 Pro, which has many additional features, is sold starting at 999 US dollars (Rp. 15.3 million). Meanwhile, the iPhone Pro Max is priced at 1,199 US dollars (Rp. 18.4 million).
The iPhone 15 Pro phones come with a new grade five titanium casing, which makes the new model more durable and lighter than the previous iPhone generation Pro models. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro has customizable action buttons on the side of the phone, replacing the mute button.
The new A17 Pro chipset for the device is claimed to have 10 times higher performance than its predecessor and is comparable to some PCs. Users are believed to be more satisfied when playing mobile games at high resolution.
Meanwhile, the larger iPhone 15 Plus is sold at prices starting from 899 US dollars (Rp. 13.8 million). The device has a 48 megapixel main camera, which has twice the telephoto option and is equipped with an A16 bionic chip.
