Apple has officially announced the date of its event, which is expected to witness the announcement of the latest iPhone smartphones, which will be held this year via the Internet only.
The technology giant said that the event will be held next Tuesday, September 15, and due to the emerging coronavirus (COVID-19) COVID-19 pandemic, the event will take place online.
The US company usually unveils new iPhones during a personal event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, in September.
Apple is expected to announce the sixth generation of its smart watches (Apple Watch Series 6) Apple Watch Series 6, in addition to an updated version of its iPad Air tablet, according to the Arab portal for technical news.
The event will begin at 10 AM PDT or 8 PM Mecca Time. Apple did not provide any additional details, but it will likely broadcast the event live, as it usually does.
Apple is expected to announce four new iPhones for the current year, including two “regular” iPhone 12 models and iPhone 12 Pro models with new designs that include sharper edges around the corners. The new design is believed to be similar to the iPhone 4 from 2010, according to TF International Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.
Kuo said: The new phones will offer 5.4-inch screens for one of them, 6.1 inches for two of them, and the highest-specification 6.7-inch model. He also said: Apple will not offer headphones or a charger in the box.
And Bloomberg News said in April: The iPhone 12 Pro models will contain three cameras and a new 3D optical radar sensor that helps in augmented reality applications. The company had launched this sensor for the first time in the latest models of computers (iPad Pro) iPad Pro earlier this year.
Kuo said: The new iPhone models will support 5G networks, however it remains unclear which models will also support the faster, but limited range, mmWave 5G.
Reports indicated that Apple will also announce a new (iPad Air) device that resembles the (iPad Pro) with a screen covering it from edge to edge. However, it is also possible that Apple deferred that to another event in October, as it did in 2018, when it announced new iPads and MacBooks.
Apple usually announces its new smartwatches with the latest iPhones. This year, Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 6.
