The recent version 14.5.1 does not seem to be a success. It would cause very annoying iPhone and iPad slowdowns for several users, while on the CarPlay side, it would not be a panacea either.
Indeed, as stated in a report signed by Autoevolution, a report confirmed by numerous testimonies on Reddit, under iOS 14.5.1 the Apple Music app would be very unstable when launched on CarPlay. It would close randomly and regularly in this configuration.
However, if the problem does not seem to affect users who have installed the latest version of Apple’s mobile system, it would have appeared quite recently. The Apple Music app would therefore have functioned normally for a while before the sudden arrival of these malfunctions.
Maybe changes have been made on the Apple Music servers side? Either way, app crashes are still happening on CarPlay at the time of writing.
Some Reddit users have found a way to limit the case however. If you are touched, try disabling WiFi connections and / or cellular data. Otherwise, we’ll just have to be patient and hope Apple fixes the situation quickly.
