As expected, Apple’s Music Memo app no longer available for download for new users. Apple announced its abandonment last December. The group added that it would no longer be possible to download it after March 1, 2021.
End of the Music Memo application for new users
Users who already have the Music Memo app on their iPhone can keep it and continue to use it. The same goes for those who had downloaded it at least once before the abandonment by Apple. All they need to do is open the App Store and go to their download history to retrieve it again if they wish. But for new users, there’s no way to get their hands on it.
Apple released the Music Memo app for the first time in 2016. It was touted as the ideal combination of Notes and Dictaphone apps. Apple was targeting musicians in particular, with the support of the acoustic guitar and the piano. Today, Apple is dropping support and redirecting users to its Dictatophone app. There is also an option to switch recordings from Musical Memo to Dictaphone.
In any case, Apple still does not say why it abandoned its application. Are we to understand that it was used by few people? It’s a possibility.
