Apple Music lance “Music Haptics”

Apple Music launches Music Haptics, a touch-based feature that brings a new music experience on iPhone to all listeners, including those who are deaf and hard of hearing.

When this accessibility feature is turned on, the Taptic Engine on iPhone sends subtle taps, textures, and vibrations in time with the music. Music Haptics works with Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Shazam, and select third-party apps when your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

To accompany this new feature, Apple Music is also introducing a brand new Music Haptics space, featuring new playlists: Tactile Beats, Tactile Bass, Tactile Vibes, and Tactile Hits, as well as a curated selection of albums. Apple Music subscribers around the world can start feeling the music now with this curated selection of tracks that support Music Haptics by visiting the new space.

Music Haptics is compatible with iPhone 12 or later, excluding iPhone SE (3rd generation), running iOS 18 or later. To turn it on, go to Settings on your iPhone, select Accessibility, and make sure Music Haptics is turned on. You’ll see the Music Haptics logo appear in the Apple Music app player (as well as the player that appears on the Home screen and in Control Center) when you’re playing a song for which Music Haptics is available—there are millions of them. Tapping the logo once temporarily pauses Haptics, and tapping it again will turn it back on.
