A new Apple Music feature called Behind the Songs has been added to highlight the work of producers and songwriters.
As reported by Engadget:
Apple Music has launched a portal highlighting songwriters, producers, and session musicians. Behind the Songs includes radio shows, playlists, and videos that highlight his work. You will be able to dive deep into the songs and lyrics, and hear from the producers about the collaboration with the artists.
The section brings together a number of Apple Music playlist series, including Songbook, Behind the Boards, and On the Session, as well as Lyrics to Live By and The Stories Behind the Songs videos. Includes the radio show Deep Hidden Meaning, in which Nile Rodgers interviews composers and listens to their stories.
Now you can also search for composers in Apple Music. According to Engadget, the new initiative is also part of Apple Music’s partnership with The Ivors Academy, a body that helps promote and represent British and Irish songwriters and songwriters.

In other Apple Music news, earlier this week, Apple’s chief licensing officer Elena Segal confirmed that Apple has no plans to offer a free subscription tier to Apple Music. From that report:
Segal also said that “probably more people would use Apple Music” if YouTube weren’t there, but rejected the prospect of a free tier of Apple Music:
“We do not believe that an ad-supported service can generate enough revenue to support a healthy overall ecosystem. And it would also really go against our core privacy values. ‘
Apple’s ‘Behind the Songs’ feature is now available on Apple Music.
