According to Bloomberg, Apple prepares for the Digital Markets Act (DMA) by allowing the installation of third-party application stores on its iPhones and iPads sold in the European Union by the end of 2023. The media specify that Apple has not yet decided on other changes for comply with the DMA and, in particular, the authorization to use a third-party payment system on Apple-branded products. The fees that Apple takes for payments through its system amount to several billion dollars a year.
Last week, Apple announced a new tariff for its App Store which has been criticized by various companies such as Spotify, Epic Games and Twitter.
