Norwegians can also apply, but it is a requirement.
Apple’s new “Apple Security Research Device Program” gives security researchers special iPhones they can snoop into.
Norway is included, but you must have discovered errors for Apple before
These very special iPhone models come with a built-in terminal with the ability to run code with an optional level of security to test. By giving developers outside of Apple, it will be easier for the company to weed out incorrect code deep inside the system.
Apple allows researchers to borrow the device for 12 months at a time, but the requirements are so strict that the device will have to be locked in the office.
Please note that only experts who have previously discovered errors in iOS or Apple’s other OS are allowed to apply to borrow such a device. Norway is included in the list of countries where developers can borrow one if they are approved.
