Apple launches the first iMac with an M4 processor and artificial intelligence features

Rifaat Apple Unveils the first version of its iMac desktop family with its latest M4 processor, making it the company’s first desktop computer to support the functionality of Apple Intelligence features with its latest processors.

Apple has entered the world of artificial intelligence with its desktop computer family based on its M4 super processor, which it introduced for the first time to the market together with its advanced version of the iPad Pro tablets 2024, which he introduced last May.

The company developed the M4 processor using the second generation of 3nm technology, and it is equipped with a Neural Engine processing unit that has 16 cores, and it provides performance 60 times faster than the neural unit that arrived with it the Apple A11 processor, and it. they can also compete with the neural processing units in Intel AMD and Qualcomm processors for computers and tablets.

The neural processing unit of the M4 offers the ability to perform 38 trillion operations within one second, through its performance based on providing it with 28 billion transistors.

It also offers M4 processors 4 times stronger graphics performance compared to the M2 processor, and 50% higher performance than the M2 chip with data processing.

The M4 chip was Apple’s go-to card for the Snapdragon

The new device comes with a data processing unit consisting of 8 cores, and a graphics processing unit of up to 10 cores, with a screen size of 24 inches and a display resolution of 4.5K, as well as offering an option for the screen with Nano-Texture Technology, which helps reduce light reflections on the screen, providing an excellent experience with better visibility for users.

The device also offers a 12-megapixel front camera at the top center of the screen with a Center Stage feature for video chatting via FaceTime.

It also provides a random memory capacity starting at 16 GB, which is double the capacity provided by the previous generation of the device, and this capacity reaches 32 GB.

Two versions with different options

Apple is offering two versions of the new device, one priced at $1,299 and coming with two outputs for transferring data and charging Thunderbolt devices, and the other priced at $1,499 and providing provided 4 Thunderbolt outputs, the feature of random memory with max. 32 GB capacity, and the ability to connect an external screen with a display resolution of 8K at a refresh rate of 120 frames per second, or two external 6K displays each with a refresh rate of 60 frames per second.

The new device runs the MacOS 15 Sequoia operating system, which offers a unique experience with its new version, MacOS 15.1, through artificial intelligence features that began to arrive at the same time as its launch .

The iMac 2024 with M4 processor comes in seven color options: green, yellow, orange, pink, violet, blue, and silver.

The new device, in both versions, will be available for pre-orders through Apple’s website starting Monday, and will reach the market by November 8.

The launch of the new iMac comes as part of the “Mac Launch Week” series that Apple announced earlier this week, coinciding with the arrival of the first artificial intelligence features at the company. Apple Intelligence To its various devices, such as iPhones with iOS 18.1 update, iPads with iPadOS 18.1 update, and Mac devices with macOS 15.1 update.

It is worth noting that Apple’s artificial intelligence features will reach all Mac computers that run its processors, starting with the Apple M1 and later.

New USB-C output

Apple also introduced new versions in the same seven colors of the Magic Keyboard and its magic mouse, but with a USB-C charging port.

This would be a new step by Apple to unify the charging port for its devices, a decision it started with the iPhone 15 last year, according to the decisions of the European Union to standardize the charging port for different consumer electronics. use integration before the end of this year.

It is also worth noting that the new mouse, which is priced at $99, has a charging port on the bottom, as the user can only charge it by turning it upside down, and it is -can be used during the charging process.
