Apple Launches MagSafe Battery for iPhone 12 Line [atualizado] – MacMagazine

confirming rumors from some time ago, Apple today released the MagSafe Battery (MagSafe Battery Pack) for the entire iPhone 12 line.

The product is very simple: a small white battery that attaches to the back of the iPhone 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max using MagSafe magnets.

Diz a Apple:

Fitting the MagSafe battery is very simple. With its compact, intuitive design, it’s easy to recharge anywhere. The magnets are perfectly aligned to securely adhere to the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro and ensure continuous recharge.

Recharging speed with the MagSafe battery increases with a charger of 27W or more, like the ones that come with the MacBook. If you need a wireless charger, just plug in a Lightning cable and you’ve got up to 15W of wireless charging.

In one of the images of the battery, you can see that its capacity is 1.460mAh — therefore, it will only serve to give an extra charge to the iPhones, not being able to fully recharge any of them. Anker’s, released months ago, has 5,000mAh (but is not an official MagSafe accessory).

Recharging is via Lightning (cable not included), and when connected it can power both the iPhone and the MagSafe Battery itself. It is worth noting that it will require iOS 14.7, what is still in beta stage — that is, it will be released anytime by Apple.

The MagSafe Battery is now available for purchase in the United States by US$100, with shipping time of 3-5 business days, and in Portugal by 110€, scheduled for delivery on July 23-27. In Brazil it is still unavailable for purchase, but will cost R$1.200.

As noted by the Will Marchiori, do Loop Infinito, Apple saved for this MagSafe Battery the functionality of wireless reverse/bilateral recharge:

In the support article we linked above, Apple says [tradução nossa]:

If the iPhone and MagSafe Battery need to be charged, you can charge them at the same time. Connect the MagSafe Battery to iPhone, then connect the MagSafe Battery to a power adapter. Using a 20W or higher power adapter, the MagSafe Battery can charge your iPhone with up to 15W of charging power.

You can also charge both by connecting the MagSafe Battery to iPhone and then connecting iPhone to a power source. You might want to charge this way if you need to connect your iPhone to another device while charging, such as if you’re using a wired CarPlay or transferring photos to a Mac.

The most important paragraph, of course, is the second. He makes it clear that with the iPhone connected to power, the smartphone can power the MagSafe Battery via Qi.

Curious, huh? ????
