macOS Monterey beta 6 is now available for developers. As we get closer to a fall release, one important feature that we haven’t seen fully available for testing is Universal Control. With macOS Monterey beta 4, Apple said in the release notes that universal control was enabled before the mention was quickly removed. We’ll see if Universal Control arrives in Beta 6 with other changes.
macOS Monterey beta 6 is now appearing via OTA for developers already registered. You can also download it from Apple’s developer website if you aren’t running the beta yet (full guide here).
New features and changes made with macOS 12 Monterey include a completely redesigned Safari, a shortcuts app coming to Mac, the new SharePlay feature of FaceTime, Universal Control to work seamlessly across multiple Apple devices, a new Focus mode, Quick Notes , AirPlay to Mac, and more.
In the third beta, Apple made some notable changes to the default Safari experience, and in the fourth beta, it enabled Live Text on Intel Macs with fake universal control.
macOS Monterey beta 6
With the first five beta versions of Monterey, the advance universal control feature was not available. But after a false start with beta four, beta 6 could officially offer the opportunity to test the exciting feature.
As always, it’s a bad idea to install early beta versions like this on your primary machine as bugs and performance issues are common, so use a secondary Mac if possible.
