Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple finally officially launched the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus series through an event entitled ‘Wonderlust’ at the Steve Jobs Theatre, Apple Park, United States.
This grand event was broadcast live via Apple’s official YouTube account, Wednesday (13/9/2023) early morning WIB.
In his presentation, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the iPhone 15 brings the improvements that gadget lovers have hoped for.
As per leaks circulating, all iPhone 15 series are equipped with ‘Dynamic Island’ which was previously exclusive to the Pro variant in the iPhone 14 series.
The iPhone 15 has a Super Retina XDR OLED screen with Dolby Vision support. This screen is brighter than its predecessor, with a brightness level of up to 2,000 nits or double that of the iPhone 14.
The iPhone 15 comes in two screen options, namely 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches for the Plus model. Both will come in yellow, pink, green, blue and black.
HP material uses crystalline particles and Ceramic Shield coating for double protection. To add security, Apple has also embedded a waterproof feature on the iPhone 15.
In terms of the camera, the iPhone 15 uses a 48MP resolution sensor with a focal length of 26mm, 2-micron sensor pixels, and 100% focus pixels.
With the pixel binning method, the iPhone 15 is claimed to be able to provide a telephoto option for more powerful zoom. This camera allows optical zoom up to 2x.
Apart from that, the camera also provides an enhanced bokeh effect. On the iPhone 15, users no longer need to change Portrait mode to produce bokeh photos.
Night Mode is also exhibited with more accurate and sharp results than its predecessor.
Regarding the chip, the iPhone 15 uses the A16 Bionic which allows for faster and more powerful processing, as well as increased battery life. This chip also supports improvements to audio aspects and location detection.
The SOS Emergency Satellite feature is also still maintained to help users interact without being connected to the internet. On the iPhone 15, there is a new feature that allows users to use satellites to show them the way while traveling.
This feature is free for 2 years for iPhone 15 users. However, this feature is not yet available in Indonesia.
This series marks Apple’s transition to USB-C as the cellphone charging standard. This port has been adopted for the iPhone, iPad and MacBook lines.
The 128GB iPhone 15 is priced starting at US$ 799 (Rp. 12.2 million) and the 128GB Plus variant starts at US$ 899 (Rp. 13.8 million).
