HOLOPIS.COM, JAKARTA – The iOS 16.4 update has been officially released, by Apple, bringing several new features and a number of bug fixes.
New features are presented, starting from 31 new emoji, sound isolation, Web push notifications to VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather application.
The 31 new emoji include a shaking face smiley, a pink heart emoji, two palms facing right and left, a Wi-Fi symbol, and more.
The new emoji follow recommendations approved by the Unicode consortium last year, and were announced in February that they would be available in the next iOS update.
Then, the voice isolation feature which was previously only available on calls using FaceTime and other VoIP applications. Now, it has been activated in cell phone calls.
Apart from that, there is also a Web push notification feature that allows iOS developers to send notifications to users from web apps. This notification will be sent when the user pins the web app to the iPhone Home Screen.
This new feature will be useful for some services, which don’t yet have a native iOS app but still want to send notifications to their users.
Other features available in the iOS 16.4 update, such as duplicate albums in Photos can now detect duplicate photos and videos in iCloud Shared Photo Library, VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app.
Then, accessibility settings to automatically dim videos if a flash or strobe effect is detected, fixed an issue with Ask to Buy requests not showing up on parents’ devices.
Then, fixed the issue where the thermostat compatible with the Matter platform was unresponsive when paired with Apple Home and Crash Detection optimization on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro
How to update and install iOS 16.4:
1. Backup all data on iPhone to iCloud to make sure no data is lost
2. Open the Settings > General > Software Update application
3. Klik Download and Install
4. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the download to complete
5. Wait for the installation process to finish
6. iOS 16.4 installed successfully
