The Apple iPad 8th generation is faster, more powerful and more versatile than ever. The cheapest iPad of 2020 runs on the new iPadOS 14 operating system.
Apple has announced a range of new products, including the Watch 6 Series, the Watch SE and the iPad Air. The 8th generation iPad was also introduced, the new entry-level model is faster than ever and runs on iPadOS 14. The versatile tablet features a 10.2-inch Retina display, advanced cameras and a battery that lasts all day. The Apple iPad 2020 model will go on sale next Friday for a starting price of € 390. The new iPad is powered by the A12 Bionic chip, with which the entry-level model now has a Neural Engine for the first time. This makes advanced machine learning possible, for example for People Occlusion and Motion Capture in AR apps (augmented reality), better photo editing, Siri and many more applications.
A cheap iPad, but super fast
The A12 Bionic processor also contributes to greatly improved performance. The CPU works 40% faster and the graphics performance is twice as high as before. This makes this new iPad up to 2x as fast as the best-selling Windows laptop and up to 3x as fast as the best-selling Android tablet and no less than 6 times as fast as the best-selling Chromebook.
For taking photo and video recordings, an 8 megapixel camera is built in (f / 2.4) at the rear. In addition, a FaceTime HD camera is available for making video calls in Full HD resolution or taking a selfie.

The new iPad has a beautiful 10.2-inch Retina display, the super-fast A12 Bionic chip, great cameras and a whole lot more, so you get a lot for your money. And that’s a good thing, given that our customers now need a versatile and fast device on which they can work from home, do homework, play games and keep in touch.
Naturally, the iPad 2020 is also compatible with the Apple Pencil. This tablet is ideal for writing, and you can just as easily take notes or annotate files on it. You can also use the tablet with the optional Smart Keyboard. This way you can use the tablet as a kind of laptop, with a physical keyboard.
The new iPad is light, handy and robust. Two models will be released, a WIFi-only and a WiFi + 4G LTE model. The battery should be strong enough to power the tablet for 10 hours. Furthermore, the tablet is equipped with Touch ID, so you can easily unlock the iPad with your finger.
The new iPadOS 14 operating system
The cheapest iPad of 2020 will run on the new iPadOS 14 immediately upon launch. This operating system will also be available for other iPad models today. There are several new features available, and several layout changes have been made to get even more out of your tablet. In addition, the possibilities with Apple Pencil have been further expanded, so you can take notes more easily and you can also do more with handwritten notes.
Shape recognition has also been added, so you can transform drawn shapes into a geometrically perfect version – you can use these shapes in Notes, for example, when creating a diagram or illustration. The data recognition feature now also works for handwritten phone numbers, dates, addresses and links. So if you have written down a phone number by hand, you can call it by tapping on it.
Thanks to iPadOS 14, you can now also use the Write function, so that you can write in any text field with your Apple Pencil. This allows you to quickly respond to an iMessage or look up something in Safari between companies without having to put down your Apple Pencil. Writing also uses the machine learning on your iPad to immediately convert your handwriting into typed text.
Other improvements of Apple iPadOS 14 are:

• Universal search to find almost anything, such as apps, contact details, files, etc.
• New sidebar in apps like Photos and Files plus a sleek toolbar.
• Widgets in a new look with current information on the home screen.

The new iPad (8th generation) is now available in the colors silver, space gray and gold. Consumers can choose from 32GB or 128GB storage memory. The price of the WiFi model starts at € 390. For the WiFi + LTE model you pay a starting price of € 490. The separately available Apple Pencil (1st generation) is compatible with the iPad 2020 and costs € 100. You have to pay an additional amount of € 180 for the Smart Keyboard. All in all, this cheap tablet in its most expensive form is still well over € 900 (128GB / WiFi / LTE / Pencil / Keyboard) – nevertheless it remains the cheapest iPad 2020 model.
