Apple has warned iPhone owners not to sleep next to a charging smartphone. It is reported by the tabloid Mirror.
“Sleeping near a device connected to a charging cable may result in fire, electric shock, injury, damage to the smartphone or property,” Apple said in a statement.
The company recommends that you always leave your phone charging in a well-ventilated area, charging it under a blanket or pillow is very risky, as the device can quickly fail.
“Do not sleep on the device, power adapter, or wireless charger, or place it under a blanket, pillow, or your body while the device is connected to a power source,” Apple warned.
The risk of fire is increased if third party chargers are used as they may not meet Apple safety standards.
