According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is working on a new version of the iPad Mini. The latest version dates back to 2021.
In a series of tweets Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst and regular whistleblower, talked about a new version of the iPad Mini. The main selling point for the future edition would be a new processor. It could be an A16 chip like in the iPhone 14 Pro, but Kuo didn’t provide further details.
If Apple is actually working on a new Mini, we shouldn’t expect it right away. According to Kuo, the tablet will be released no earlier than the end of 2023 or even only in the first half of 2024. The latest Mini came out in 2021.
Foldable iPad?
Ming-Chi Kuo also had something to say about a possible foldable iPad. The analyst believes it is “unlikely” that Apple will replace the iPad Mini with a foldable tablet in 2025. He disputes the predictions of some media. Kuo gives the reason that a foldable iPad would cost significantly more and that replacing the Mini is therefore not reasonable. Kuo made no other claims about a foldable iPad.
