According to information reported by the magazine Bloomberg, Apple is reportedly working on new generation accessories to equip its new iPhones. The Cupertino brand wishes to take advantage of the capabilities of the MagSafe induction charger present on the iPhone 12. As a reminder, the MagSafe charger on the iPhone can recharge the phone battery, thanks to wireless induction. Apple added a like to position the charger exactly and speed up charging. MagSafe has for a long time equipped Macbooks before replacing connectors with USB-C. For a few weeks, rumors have suggested that Apple would be ready to reintegrate MagSafe on its computers soon.
Today, Apple already offers accessories designed to take advantage of the MagSafe such as the MagSafe shell or the leather card holder with MagSafe.
Apple will soon offer an external battery that will attach directly to the back of the phone. This accessory does not take the form of a iphone 12 case but only a battery with a strong magnet that is independent of the phone. It can therefore be put on and taken off in 1 second. The product has not yet been officially announced but the first prototypes show a very thin white design. No information on the power of this battery has yet filtered, but it is certain that it will be appreciated by people who have trouble detaching from their phone.
Induction charging is growing more and more and is becoming common in everyday life with many phones that have launched after following Apple. In a few years there is a good chance that this charging method will be the norm and not only for phones. Bluetooth headphones already use this technology a lot, including Airpods.
The development of the MagSafe battery started over a year ago, but it looks like the new iPhone accessory has some software issues that are slowing down its design.
