Apple is starting to test the foldable iPhone design, which is expected to appear in 2022

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Apple doesn’t want to be outdone by its competitors and now has to get close to producing a foldable iPhone. Rumors of an iPhone with a folding screen have been circulating for a long time, at least after Samsung released the Galaxy Fold last year.

Last year Apple even filed several patents for its own folding screen design and technology.

Latest report by Business newspaper mentioned that Apple shipped samples of foldable iPhones from Chinese suppliers such as Foxconn and New Nikko.

Currently, Apple is reportedly considering whether to use an OLED or microLED display for its foldable iPhone device.

The choice of display panel is the key to the success of this technology. OLED panels are usually more flexible. On the other hand, microLED is a new display technology that offers higher brightness, saturation and energy efficiency.

Until the display panel is determined, Apple must enter the testing phase of other supporting components such as hinges which are also very vulnerable.

Arena GSM It was reported that Samsung will be the screen supplier, while most of the hinge components will be from New Nikko and assembled by Foxconn.

This hinge component was then folded more than 100,000 times by New Nikko, a manufacturer that also worked with Apple to make hinges for the MacBook.

However, Apple is scheduled to launch a new foldable iPhone in September 2022. Remember, this news is still in the form of rumors gathered from a number of Apple’s production chains. We will wait for futher news.
